The content of the articles may be used under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-No-Derivatives (CC BY-ND) license, 4.0, provided that the copyright holder is credited, and the texts may not be altered, edited, translated, or otherwise processed.

The terms of use for the illustrations are specified separately for each illustration.

Disclaimer

The Encyclopaedic Institute of the Slovak Academy Sciences (hereinafter referred to as Encyclopaedic Institute) is not responsible for the correctness, completeness and up-to-dateness of the text of the articles and illustrations, and Encyclopaedia Beliana is not a substitute for legal, medical or other sources of information. If such information is needed, it is necessary to contact the experts in the relevant field directly.

Privacy

As the operator of the site en.beliana.sav.sk, the Encyclopaedic Institute in accordance with Act no. 122/2013 Coll. on Personal Data Protection as amended, does not process any personal data on the basis of which it could identify its visitors.

The Encyclopaedic Institute SAS does not make any data available to third parties.

If the reader provides his or her email address and any other data via the comment form, this information will be sent by email to the relevant member of staff at the Encyclopaedic Institute. The data is not stored in the database of the website en.beliana.sav.sk.

The website en.beliana.sav.sk stores the following data during the reader's visit:

Server logs: As with other websites, the server logs contain the IP address of the visitor, the time of the visit, the address of the visited page, the amount of transferred data, the identification data of the type of browser and operating system and the address of the page from which the visitor came to the website. This data is used exclusively to check system security and is automatically deleted after 14 days.

Statistical data: the website en.beliana.sav.sk tracks which articles visitors are most interested in, whether they visit the website repeatedly, how long they stay on the website, from where they access the website, which elements and settings of the website they use, and which technical parameters of the browser used are. For statistical analysis, the Encyclopaedic Institute uses the website analytic tool Matomo (Matomo.org, previously Piwik), which is hosted on the Institute's server. Matomo processes the visitor's anonymized IP address and other data provided by the visitor's browser. This data is stored for statistical analysis for a maximum of 90 days, after which only the summary results of the statistical analysis are stored.

Cookies are small text files stored on the visitor's computer. The website en.beliana.sav.sk does not use cookies.
